Our March Offer!!

Only 99 Euros per person!!

With such a great response to the Dream Hotel Spain project i thought i’d put this site up just to give all investors (we’ve got more than a few already!) and potential investors more information about what I’m up to.

We’ve now been in the hotel just over 3 months….and what a 3 months its been! We’ve already raised just short of 50,000 Euros which has enabled us to buy the lease and start operating the hotel…the next push, and the next 50,000 Euros are to start an upgrade of the rooms and public areas so we can make the most of what promises to be a very busy summer!

We can’t belive its only a week until Christmas Day! Where has the time gone since we took over the hotel in November! We’ve put together some offers for over the Festive Season including a Christmas & New Year Residential package and we’re also taking booking for Christmas Lunch and our own New Years Eve Celebration Dinner!

We’ve still got a few places left both for the residential packages and for Christmas Lunch! Come stay for 3 nights over Christmas for only 389 Euros for 2 people including your room and all food and wine with your meals or just 39 Euros for Christmas Lunch!

Its Christmas at El Elefante Amarillo!

We’ll our first Sunday Lunch went really well with 20 people turning up for Traditional Sunday Roast and Apple Crumble! We’ll be offering a traditional Sunday lunch on the first Sunday of each month from January! At only 15 Euros for 3 courses…you’d be nuts to miss it! We’ll we’ve survived our first 10 days at the Hotel and its been great!

Great feedback from guests and we’ve met some interesting people also. Mostly our first clients were all self guide walkers from either The Netherlands or UK arranged by tour operators who specialise in this field.

These clients need a good hearty meal after a day walking, for some over 20kms, a great bed, an early night and a hearty breakfast! All of which we were able to supply.

Our busiest night was last Wednesday when we had 13 lady walkers from Singapore whom descended on the hotel! Chocolate cake and tea was served on their arrival, cava before dinner and they all relaxed by the roaring fire before retiring to bed. They were great! And many of the ladies were also in the hospitality business including one lady who was a Director of Raffles Hotel! Great guests for our first week….and we took over 800 Euros that night….

We’ve been busy putting our stamp on the hotel, some new furniture has arrived including a huge black leather sofa which has pride of place next to the log fire. (dont worry i didnt blow the budget! I found it in Fuengirola for a very reasonable 150 Euros!!)..and lots of my collection of art gallery posters which are now dotted around the hotel.

We’ve also decided to change the name of the hotel, after much debate and consultation, to El Elefante Amarillo!

The name comes from the fact that part of my collection of all things retro are a number of yellow elephants designed by Luigi Colani in the mid 1970′s. Apart from their collectability its a great fun, fresh and bold logo for the hotel, which needs to compete with a number of great places locally and we really felt something bold was the way forward.

To attract visitors from all nationalities i wanted something that could be understood in any language and that visually was strong enough to be distinct on signage and signs we can put up to direct people to the hotel. Also with Ronda being such a busy tourist destination I wanted a logo that would stand out in tourist offices in Ronda, and once guests arrive have a name that was memorable.

I have been asking guests here where else they have stayed on their trip locally and many had to refer to printed notes etc to tell me where they stayed the night before….hopefully not a problem for El Elefante Amarillo!

The .com domain name i also thought was important for visitors to remember…and as www.elefanteamarillo.com was available it seems perfect! Locals have also been very supportive of the name change and its been a talking point in the bar for the last week!

Completition date has been and gone and we’re now in!! YES WE ARE NOW TRADING!

Wednesday was a really busy day and we arrived at the hotel at 5pm and managed to sign contracts at 10pm!

Thursday was a whirlwind with us trying to set up the bar and restaurant, filling fridges, cooking food and generally trying to make the place ready for our first clients.

We’ve had clients in every night so far and as I write this more clients have just walked in who needs a room for tonight! yipeee We have now found a local girl who has been cooking tapas and meals every evening and also a local girl to help us in the bar and restaurant.

I’ve got lots more to update you on later tonight once dinner is over…but i’ve attched a picture of myself, Sheree and our first guests Kees Stam and Inge Landsmeer from Holland who were here for 2 nights enjoying some great walks in the area…more later need to go serve some beers!
